Popsicle Toes

Yup, I have 'em. But everything else is as warm as hot apple pie (it might have something to do w/the peri-menopausal thing going on w/me.)

More Ecuador . . .

My favorite part of my trip was going to a spot called Mitad del Mundo - middle of the earth. I don't know why (although the tour guide tried to explain) this is dubbed the middle, since the equator runs the entire circumference of the planet. I just know that I thought this spot was way cool. It was fascinating and just had lots to offer in the way of culture. Inside the monument (first picture below) we took an elevator to the top, but going down, there was about 15/16 landings, showing Ecuadorian culture and history.

my cheeks are on both the northern and southern hemisphere :)

The surrounding countryside was gorgeous but blogger has blocked me again from posting more pics. I'll try to post more later.

How does God do it??

Seriously - how did he create such beauty . . .

Quito and the surrounding area was so beautiful, and yet, there was a lot of poverty. I'll write more about my trip next week 'cause I've got too much going on here at work, but I did want to post a few pics.

This is the street outside the American Embassy . . .

me in front of the Embassy . . .

the park in front of my hotel . . .

see the angel on the hill waaaayyy in the back???

same angel . . . up close . . .

Everything is built on a hill and some of it was modern, but a lot of it was old and falling apart. To me, it added to the beauty of the city. Quito is set in a long, shallow valley at an elevation of 2,800 m (9,200 ft) above sea level - it went for days (it seemed like anyway). Surrounded by green Andes peaks, Quito's weather was warm, but it got cold when it rained (which was every day), even though they're on the equator. Speaking of equator, my next set of pics will show the spot they call Mitad del Mundo.....middle of the earth.....it was amazing!!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I'm leaving on a jet plane. . . .

Remember that song?

Anyway, I'm Ecuador bound and I'm nervous about it. I'll post pics when I get back.

By the way, I'm now addicted to John Legend. His new cd is fricking amazing. There isn't a bad song. I'll leave you with the lyrics to my favorite:

• P.D.A. (We Just Don't Care) • | by John Legend

Let's go to the park
I wanna kiss u underneath the stars
Maybe we go to far
We just don't care
We just don't care
We just don't care

U know I love u when ur loving me
Sometimes it's better when it's publicly
I'm not ashamed I don't care who sees
Just hanging & kissing our love extra basically

We run devour up on the fire escape
I like to setup an alarm today
The love emergency don't make me wait
Just follow I'll lead u
I urgently need you

Let's go to the park
I wanna kiss u underneath the stars
Maybe we go to far
We just don't care
We just don't care
We just don't care

Lets make love, let's go somewhere they may discover us
We just don't care
We just don't care
We just don't care

I see u closing down the restaurant
Let's sneak and do it when your boss is gone
Everybody's leaving will have some fun
Or maybe it's wrong but u turn me on
Ooh, will take a visit to your Mama's house
Creep to the bedroom while your Mama's is out
Maybe she will hear it when we scream and shout
And we will keep it rocking until she comes knocking

Let's go to the park
I wanna kiss u underneath the stars
Maybe we go to far
We just don't care
We just don't care
We just don't care

Let's make love, let's go somewhere where they may discover us.
Let's get lost and lost
We just don't care
We just don't care
We just don't care

If we keep up on this fooling around
Will be the talk of the town
Let's turn around they will arrive anytime
Let's open up the blinds

Ooh I don't care about the priority
Let's break the rules and ignore society
Maybe the neighbor wants to spy too
So long if they watch what we do

So what do you think....and just because I like this song, doesn't mean anything. The music is what got me first, then the words.

Talk at you in a week and a half...peace out!
